glenskates1 Member 20 Member For: 13y 1d Posted 15/11/11 03:13 AM Author Share Posted 15/11/11 03:13 AM Yeah, Theres plenty of BA's, but not many BF's in WA for my price range (about $18 000) I wont be able to get 20 grand, I think that would be stretching my money to far. 18 is still a little stretch. glenskates1 Member 20 Member For: 13y 1d Posted 15/11/11 03:35 AM Author Share Posted 15/11/11 03:35 AM Theres 10 or so decent looking BF's over east for under $20. but, of course, I wouldnt know if they're decent or not. I cant get access to more money so, perhaps time to start looking into BA's?

Otherwise look at heading over east for a weekend to scope out some cars and ship one back

I've just seen photos of the 4 speed's and seen the 4 speeds look like they have the quick shift option to the left of Drive,Reverse etc. Thanks for the KW and HP talk, that helps heaps! if the ZF box is the only one with a good proper quick shift, then, im keen. But I may have to look interstate as suggested a bit.Are the ZF gear ratios a lot shorter than the BA's 4speed? Does anyone know what each gear revs out to on either/both boxes?Yeah, the 4-speed has the sports shift as well I think, but it's not as good as the ZF.The ratios for the ZF are:1st: 4.172nd: 2.343rd: 1.524th: 1.145th: 0.876th: 0.69R: 3.4Fnal Drive: 2.73I'm not sure what the ratios in the 4-speed are though. Why's that?I had it until I became a donating member. I think it was 10 posts in a 24 hour period or something. Maybe it's a anti-spam thing??Not sure about that, mine never shifts up in manual mode! It will hit the nasty rev limiter even back when it was stock. It does shift down to prevent stalling of course. Maybe it shifts up gears if you raise RPM slower? Never tested that, the times I've had it hit the limiter I was flat to the floor...Once you get the car Glen come say hi in WA chat and attend a cruise Edit...actually come say hi in WA chat anyway, no point waiting hahaha.Well, I was just going by what ZF say on their website about the box. When I first heard about how good the ZF was, I went and read up on it and one of the 'features' is auto-up-shift to prevent damage to the box/drive line just before red-line. I guess maybe Ford didn't implement it but I would have thought it was a no-brainer to reduce wear and tear to cut down on the number of warranty jobs they had to do on the ZF boxes
