Out of curiosity I contacted a friend across the road at FPV to find out how many FG MkI F6s they had left (seeing as I had just started building FG MkII bodies), and found they had a couple of units available at nice prices.

So within a couple of days I'm all signed and sealed and awaiting delivery of a FG MkI F6 Sedan. Vanish, Manual, Leather, Small Brembos, mats, etc.

I've attached the photo that FPV sent to me of her heading off to the dealer.

Kinda pumped!

Awesome, I guess it pays to know the guys in FPV. I was going to ask if you were picking it up straight from the factory but then I saw it on the truck going to the dealer...did you get a better deal going through the FPV friend than if you'd gone thorugh a dealer? I did look at Ford jobs once because of the employee discount, hehe

that's awesome mate, guess it pays to know the right people! exactly what colour is that?

:secret: I think it's Vanish...sorta purpley colour

With ford pricing you can buy one every couple of years and lose sfa. Ford need any concreters :) and I heard Bosch employees get a better deal?

Good sh*t man, reading the title I feared you might of stooped into buying a GS.

Any reason other then cash you didn't wait for the Mark 2?

Well to be honest I didn't see the point in paying an extra 10k for a touchscreen (F6 rrp is 59990 without leather or mats at the moment, but I figure it will return to it's previous levels come MkII). The only thing I want out of the MkII in FPV form is the USB input, as I've ditched my iPhone in favor of a galaxy S2. Maybe take that as an indication on my thoughts on the MkII changes, I don't think I'd be allowed to be any more specific than that but you should catch my drift. All I can say is that people who want touch screens obviously haven't got them, or they only use them when they're parked!

There were two manuals in vixen still at FPV, one silhouette. There are obviously still cars dotted throughout the country in dealer land.

Oh and as for ford pricing, I paid 36k for my FG turbo sedan, but the trade in of 20k is still a fair whack. I've covered my residual and I get to offload the car without private sales hassles, so I'm not too upset.

Pretty sad if that's all it is. Buy a 2010/11, and spend the 10k on mods imo. Hell you could spend 10k on a full ICE system with an even better touchscreen if ya want.

Oh and I'm kinda looking for support that I've done the right thing considering I could have got a company car xr6 turbo for less per month than this is going to cost per week! I was hoping the exclusivity (only managers drive FPVs), mod potential (can't tweak company lease cars), and general pride of ownership (no one cares about a company car) would offset the extra costs associated with having your own car (especially an FPV), and the massive setback to my house deposit savings! Hehe.

The way I've worked out the new lease it shouldn't cost much more than my old car, which is cool!
