I cut my sump clean in half when I blew mine. Cut the lower half of the motor in half too. I ended up sticking a BA motor in for $1,000.

It's hard to get decent Ford gear over here at the right price. If I had some spare cash I would probably do a rebuild on an NA block with rods and pistons.

My boots are too heavy :blind: Gave it a bootfull, and it just went bang. Oil everywhere.

My cams are worn as well, so looking at a long, or complete engine ATM.

Just had a look at the holes in my sump today, and just like GB, my piston is very similar, broken rod, block is smashed inside, and can see the valve heads up thru the bottom.

Engine out 2morro.

Have ordered a new F6 long engine.

It isnt a cheap job. Had to get my turbo rebuilt, new radiator(as cheap as a clean and check), RH engine mount(fark, they aint cheap :f*ckyou: ) new water pipes, as the F6 engine has the oil cooler on the block. Also got all new hoses coming, belt, flywheel bolts, and then labour on top of all that. Could have bought another ute for the money.

Sounds like I got off lightly. Got a sweet BA engine from a wreckers for $1,000nz and that was pretty much it. No fire, no damage to the turbo and no damage to the heat exchanger although I did have to re-mount it as the sump was cut in half.

My first thought after the bang and orange flash was "have I got some way to put out a fire :P "

I chose to replace most of my stuff. A lot of it probably wasnt needed, but I dont want to stuff up a new engine because I scrimped

on some parts. My hoses, and radiator dont look too bad, so will be used for spares.

I looked at a 2nd hand BA engine, but didnt want to end up blowing that down the track, plus it had 177,000ks on it.

My new F6 engine will look smick with its blue rocker cover :sungum:
