Every MY03 wrx driver I come across anywhere, seem to look at my car and have the look of "Why didn't I buy a proper car" in their faces ;)

I'f I was shorter, I woulda probably looked at buying a WRX myself (yep they handle well etc), but I'm 6 foot 10 inches and I needed some room. Funnily enough, in my Pulsar SSS which I once drive (roughly the same cabin space as an impreza), The seat was all the way back and I had just enough crampy room (but backseat passangers had no chance). In the T the seat is is only halfway back, plenty of room for the friends and I'm sitting in absolute comfort.

Just one more thing, I bet that if you got in a T and turned off the traction control, you'd have more fun than you'd ever have in the wrx ;) Hell, even with traction control on is alot of fun when you want it to be ;) Gotta love the roundabouts and slamming the accelerator to the floor while going around them, giving you a very nicely controlled power slide. TC can be tricked ;)

@ Plonky

To be fair, the My03 nose and back was designed by the same bloke who designed the McLaren F1 roadcar, not a jap. That said, the My03 is still sorta ugly at the front. I don't mind the back though.

Why does the XR6T have to be better or worse than a WRX?

They arent even competing for the same market in most cases. l am married and drive a family car. If l was single or kidless, and could afford insurance, l very likely would drive a WRX. If the WRX is better than an XR6T it would be irrelevant to me anyway as l need a car with space.

Whats the point?

guys I pay $1200 a year for insurance do you think that's expensive, what's weird is that I pay more for my wifes rav4

I have to agree mondie, totally different cars

KrasH, I had a SSS before the rex and had the seat right back but don't need it right back in the rex. I wouldn't like to sit behind me though. To tell the truth I wouldn't mind if it didn't have back seats, I mean what sports cars do?

I realise I can't win preaching the good word of the WRX on a ford forum but it is fun to try..

if your up to the task come over to wrx.net.au and see if you can serve it up there

I don't think we need any inter-forum flame wars thanks WRX03. <_<

I know most of your comments are made tongue-in-cheek and you're only fishing for reactions, that's OK, constructive criticism and friendly banter is good.

Most of us have no interest in going to other forums unless it relates to something we are interested in.

I don't have a WRX anymore, not sorry to see it go and considering I've had one I will continue to aim for something I haven't got yet.....I am aiming for a Porsche, M5, a C430 or another US Muscle car (Dodge/Plymouth)

Everything the WRX does, the XR6T can do. They are as quick as each other IF the driver of the Falcon is skilled (the AWD makes an ordinary driver look like Nigel Mansell), they can stop as well as each other and the Falcon can actually fit real adults (not Asian Midgets) in the back seat.

As a matter of fact.....(and I don't like throwing down challenges) just try and get away from a HWP XR8/6Turbo or a Late model camira SS in a pursuit and you will see that it is the driver that seperates the car....not the car seperating the driver. (if you really want to know how much an impact a driver is to a car..I can point you to many pursuits in Sydney earlier this year with WRX's, GTR's, EVO's etc where they have been caught or their ambition as been confused with their ability and they end up crashing and getting caught)

The WRX isn't a sports car per se' it is an Impreza family sedan that was originally a rally car homologation. A sports car is more akin to a Nissan 350Z, BMW Z4, Porsche Boxster, Mustang Cobra

Hello all, I have to aplogise for WRX03. You see Im the mate who is interested in buying a T. So Im kind of responsible for letting him loose on this site.

He has only had the rex for a short time and is starting to already display the trade marks of a rex driver....ful sic and fully hectic bro!

Prior to this, I doubt if he knew what a turbo was. Cant pay out too much on him though, have no wheels at the moment. Spend a lot of time in his rex :

Argue all the time over which is better, but I think its horses for courses.

Rex handles unbelievably well, but does lack some driveability. Just love the torque spread on the T, 450nm 2000 -4500rpm. Rex drivers would kill for that. And what other car responds so well to some minor mods.

REX boys spend thousands for small gains

Know which car I will be getting!

how many people is that Porsche going to fit in the back :laughtcont:

T can do everything a rex can do eh, how bout a race around eastern creek in the wet.

I wouldn't let my family drive around in the rain without AWD.

Dilge, if you get a T you might get a divorce to go with it

I was thinking of buying a STI before i bought the XR6T.

However I think for comfort, driving room, features the XR6T wins hands down. Not only all that has the performance to match.

After driving both the STI and the T my mind was made up.. T it was..

Typical rex driver....come take me on in the rain!

AWD does not make you Schumacher!

It is inevitable Mr Anderson that the rex will soon get you into problems your lack lustre skills will not get you out off!

An XR6 Turbo or a divorce...mmmmmmmm. Choices,choices!
