Roof, I might take you up on that offer! Will be good to compare and see what you think of mine too. Plus it would be good to put a face to a name. I'm north of the river, but keen to drive anywhere. Any excuse to go for a drive! Im back on 19th (I work away) but if you have some time after that, it would be good to catch up.

No dramas mate, I'm in Hillarys when in Perth... I work a continuous roster so not many weekends off.. keep in touch for a cruise!

Don't stress too much bout ya car, she'll be what you are after in no time :sungum:

Guess you need to be concentrating out on the road in your beast when it's wet.

Luke surely there is something wrong with yours, by all accounts it should be going spastic with that turbo. What were your rwkw stock?

Good question. I never asked what it made stock

mate from 3600rpm all hell is supposed to break loose. Your power curve drops away where Vevas goes mental.

Cheaper option is to try another tuner, bigger turbo set up is thousands!

Everybody else is getting the power results I can't understand why your not.

Seams like the boost is being bled off. Are your valve spring stock?

I wouldn't be running that power on stock springs, they float at high rpm causing power lose

and the car will then idle like crap for a few seconds.

How did the tuner shop make the actuater bracket, just a long shot but maybe

the flapper which is connected to your actuater is not closing due to incorrect bracket which will put the actuator in the wrong position.

Check everything mate, where did they plumb your boost nipple?

What BOV are you runnning, maybe the spring is not strng enough and when you car build boost

it bleeds off?

Either way a boost leek you would be able to hear.

That is exactly how I see it too. The curve should be sky rocketing when it comes on to full boost, yet it calms down??? I don't get it

I thought it was like this

Lots of revs, lots of boost, smoke, grin, goodbye ss....

Mines more like

Lots of revs, have a cuppa, share a story, then hold on for dear life

I'm still curious to know what the alternatives that Robbie and Simon are alluding too...!

HTA's? hmm nah heaps laggier then the GTX

TO4z nope nothing then everything type of turbo

EFR 8374 untested not sure if anyone has even tried one yet but look the goods!

GT 3540??? maybe but still no match for the GTX plus will only go to 400 - 420 max!

And there's not too many T3 good alertnatives left... unless as I mentioned earlier you go T4 and manifolds and externally gated route!

I still struggle to understand why your's is a dog until 4000+ rpm just doesn't make a lot of sense too me!

Even today when I was accidently doing some poweskid practice for sunday I had you in mind and mine just seems to come on boost in a sec and just tattoo roadways all around Sydney!

I Dunno about the HTA being heaps more laggy. im making 10psi @ 3000 14psi @ 3300. it does creep to 3~6psi but then snaps the needle to the boost I have set. (makes it good for traction) RDP had 21psi @ 4200

when I was looking at turbos I nearly brought a PT6765 (very simular to the HTA3794)

but with the amount of failures the HTA turbos have (mine failed within 10 mins on the car). MTQ brought 2 into the country RDP got one and Tekkani the second. RDP rebuilt theirs due to bad bearings, and Tekanni's was rebuilt due to having the same fult mine did, luckily before he brought it from them.

I spoke to one of the guys from a reputable shop and he said there is definitely something wrong. He thinks the car is way under powered and that the gtx3582r is a great turbo with characteristics comparable to the factory turbo.

This is a reassuring bit of information as this was why I got this turbo in the first place.

He said it was interesting that the dyno dynamics run reads less than the mainline, as historically speaking, mainline are more conservative.

He said a 360rwkw on a dyno dynamics is roughly 350rwkw on a mainline. Whether or not this is true, I don't know as im not a dynometer professional.

He said with the mods I have, I should easily be seeing over 400 and that is what I thought all along. He also said there is definitely a problem with the power if I can't break traction. He said with that much power and with the turbo being quick to come in to boost, I should be breaking traction really, really quickly. He basically said it would be undrivable on the street.

He told me to look at what actuator went on and the quality of the wastegate mod, because to him it seems like there is a problem somewhere. I asked him about a pre load check, and he said that it should have been done when the mod was getting done. I'm unsure if monsta torque did the mod or they sourced it from elsewhere, but will ask the question.

I rang mtq, which is where I got the turbo from and told them that the turbo is not performing the way I had anticipated, and they said that if I take the turbo off the car they will test it to see that it is working properly. they said that they can't put a bigger comp wheel in the turbo as it's in the limit as it is. They said that the new gtx series are really good and that I shouldn't be seeing huge amounts of lag.

Should I be expected to pay to get the turbo taken off the car?

Where do I stand with all of this
