Boost leaks make a racket. Simon would have picked up on it straight away if he has had it on his dyno. It's the first place to look when your lacking power.

The car is really noisy when it comes on to boost, but I assume it is the pod/turbo.

He didn't say anything when he did the power run.

Veva's graph above is on E85, so it is not a fair comparison..

At the end of the day you have 3 different tunes you can load into your SCT box, so there is nothing wrong with keeping the one you have now and having another tune from a different shop. I do..

I have 2 tuners that I am more than happy to work on my car, they both get along quite well and even share my tune files.. I don't expect the 2 shops in question to do same.. However, if you are not happy with what you have now I would take up XFT's offer of improvement or it's free.. Sounds good to me.. In saying that, MT has a very good rep and would give Rob the opportunity to have another crack..

You said it yourself earlier, that Rob did not recommend the turbo set up you have, this is why you should always listen to what your tuner recommends and not what people say on forums... Many shops spend hours of R&D on different combinations to test what works and what doesn't... This may also include different combinations of components that other shops recommend.. eg: some shops use "X" injectors while others recommend "Y" injectors.. They have obviously spent time testing what works for them and feel comfortable recommending these to their customers. It's not that one is better than the other..

Hope this makes sense.... :)

Ben

I had our Nizpro car at Simons today and we spoke about this car. The crux of the conversation was as above.

What HP is your turbo rated at?

Where do you live in Perth, if you want to go for a drive in mine I'd be happy to take you, mine comes on boost pretty hard and doesn't have a problem lighting up the rears anywhere in 2nd gear.

Simon did some small XFT tweaks on my F6 turbo and pushed 16psi to get my power of 358.8kw, as you can see by about 3200rpms its made full torque power. Some have gone 385kw with the same mods and in Autos, so mine was on the 'lower' scale of things

Hope you get it sorted anyway, you are in good hands either way you go and it's a shame you didn't run your turbo choice past either of the guys that could of tuned it

I ran it past both shops and fell victim to forum banter. If a new turbo will make all these problems go away, then so be it.

Its going to come to this...

FOR SALE: gtx3582r, 100km done on the turbo....

I seen a power run on the nizpro car while I was there. Very loud and sounded off its head.

Did Simon say what turbo he would be using if we did swap it out?

There isn't a huge difference between the two graphs?

The turbo is rated at 750hp or there abouts.

Hope you get it sorted anyway, you are in good hands either way you go and it's a shame you didn't run your turbo choice past either of the guys that could of tuned it
