The last reply I have gotten from Alcon (PWR) re the brakes is and I'm paraphrasing... "I reckon they'll fit, you'll just have to suck it and see." Actual answer is quite a bit longer but equally as useless.

I've decided to change the wheels on my car now and just go with Brembo's. No messing around, no suck it and see's. They will fit, first time.

Honestly, I'm disappointed more than anything as I love the factory option 19" wheel on these cars. It's a wonderful looking wheel that suits the car perfectly... if you want to run stock brakes.

Mexican I was thinking of the same thing but was told a stern no as it effects the structural integrity of the wheel therefore in the event of an accident insurance would disallow any claim...

Very annoying. I've priced genuine (I want genuine) FPV wheels. As I'll need 5 of the buggers to clear the brakes they are going to be around the 2.5k mark plus purchasing another tyre and then + 4.5k for Brembo's from Sydney Race Brakes front and rear. I'm starting to wonder whether that is even cost effective anymore.

Surely DBA cross drilled and slotted rotors with an Ultimate pad will suffice for street duties. And be a shedload cheaper and save the hassles of changing wheels (which I don't want to do). Might be a good thing though as it'll stop me from going too far with the mods so that regardless of what is added to the factory hardware it just won't pull the car up...

Self imposed limit.

hi all was looking at the brake upgrade thing today

we could use the comodore vz front two piece disc from dba part no52018 with a machined up caliper bracket and a 6 spot caliper is there any interest in this upgrade as it means you can run standard wheels with them and when the disc are worn out its a easy replacement I have a mate who owns a mill who looked at it with me and we both think its resonably straight forward
