I have noticed the diff clunk in mine is getting worse. It is especially noticable when you are traveling at 50 or 60km/h and come to a stop. You can acutally fell it kick in the back. I have done about 17000 Km's and just thought this was normal after hearing a lot anout it here. Should I get the dealer to check on it?

Just had my 2ns replacement diff in; still lots of backlash..

im kinda getting used to feeling the kick in the back from the shunt.

Its an absolute discrace that this widespread problem with the manuals, is allowed to go on! SHAME ON YOU FORD!

Are the ute drivers experiencing this?! Since the BA has the old live axel diff, and the sedan has the new independent version.

I do remember most reviews of XR's from at least 5 years ago that a clunk coul dbe heard occasionly from the rear depending on what you were doing. I think U-Turns were the biggest culprit.

WHITEXR6T did not notice anything wrong at all... Ireckon its more clunkier mow!

Sounds like they took your diff to give to someone else to stop the clunk!! I wouldn't put it past Ford....someone's nephew must have bought a Falcon with clunk....

Well I finally had some noises come out of mine on the weekend, started to use the sss mode for all driving, when moving from a standstill heard a little clunk a couple of times. But when back in auto mode no clunk at all.

Things that make you go hmmmmmmmm
