hey guys, long time reading, first time posting

I wanna know is there any difference between the n/a block and the turbo block?

also is the crank the same?

I know they have different rods, pistons and comp ratio

I'm looking at building up a hot turbo motor, new rods pistons etc...

just wanted to know if their the same because it'd save me a bit money to buy a long n/a motor than a turbo one

thanks

dunno?

maybe email your tuner?

or you could phone ford and see what the part numbers are respectively? if the same then- same/same.

The bit I know is that the block, and crank are the same. Only later BF that had updated rods(and FPV)

Pistons run a lower compression on the turbo motor.

So yeah, get a NA, and build up a goodun.

I've just changed the engine and box in my ba

Changing from ba turbo to n/a bf was simple as everything bolted straight on including the tubo mannifold.

Wiring is the same except the bf has 2 knock sensors( just take one off)

the map sensor on turbo is 2 psi

the map sensor on n/a is 1 psi

But used same manifolds so nothing had to be changed.

Power is awesome

It doesn't have that lag off the mark like the turbo block and is very responsive on and off boost

Anyone looking for a turbo head?

This is a VERY risky avenue, and should not be pursued.

There is a VERY high risk of detonation and leg out through the side, due to compression ratio being too high. This engine has to be pinging when floored, so a matter of time really

U should read up on all specs

Pinging no

Percentage of turbo being spooled up in comparrison to previous engine is halved due to hvcia

U got any real experience on this topic or just trying to be a hero

I remind you of your status of 'Training Wheels' here

Amongst many other highly technical modifications to the BA/BF Falcon over the past 9 years, I have built 4 or 5 of these Turbo engines now, so if you do a bit of searching, I think you will find that I have a fair idea what I am talking about.
