That is the worst sounding thing ever. Imagine having to live with that lol.

Lucky for him he doesn't live on my street or there would be a fire..

I assume you have an XR6T?

Race him!! Who gives a f*ck how loud the exhaust is if your quieter and quicker!

There's some dickhead in a B&S BA XR6 ute that comes past my work every once in a while, I dunno whats done to it exhaust wise but I reckon it'd sh*t all over that ute as far as volume goes (it sounds like sh*t to me)

Reidos, don't worry about the people bagging exhaust notes! ha ha :f*ckyou: Just because most XR6Ts sound really lame doesn't mean you can't drastically improve it. Lambos/Maseratis/Astons etc are EXTREMELY loud at full noise, so it must be simply personal taste to suggest a boring, quiet car is better. If people want boring, an Aurion would have been a better choice than a T....

Simply less muffler is more, and aftermarket systems won't give the note you are looking for - most are ordinary/too quiet so a custom pipe set-up is what you are after. Talk to exhaust shops and see how you go - the key is to keep it quiet at low revs, and loud higher - so you can drive it either quiet or loud depending on your mood and all engines/mods will need different set-ups.

Cheers and good luck.

I disagree.

Sure they're louder than a stock car but not THAT loud.

They have a nice note due to more than just the exhaust (it does play a big role though) but the number of cylinders, capacity and revs make a difference too.

If you want it loud take the exhaust off after the cat, or get one of those varex type mufflers or something.

I agree 234FPV, but the Ts can sound really good for a 6 (unlike V6s - they all sound crap to me) - but just like M3s and Skyline's do, straight six gives a great note if done well.

Dave, my mate drove a Gallardo Superleggera and Ferrari 430 Challenge (stock - when working out what toy the lucky $%^#) and said his ears were ringing for hours afterwards for both cars - surely that's extremely loud...??! ha ha

There is no "right" answer in this one, but I think the OP wants super-loud so the comments about its better being quiet are not exactly helpful....!!

I just don't think the super-loud he's after will produce a nice note that people whether they be car enthusiast's or whining old bastards appreciate.

For a start, what's done the exhaust now (if it was the loudest in town I assume somethings been done) so you improve on that without spending too much (hopefully). Any other mods too?

Can't say I've had the pleasure in driving a Lambo so can't comment there on in cabin noise!

But, have seen them being given a bootful (was a Lambo LP640 at the Temora 1000 on Saturday) and compared to some of the other street and race cars, it was very quiet. Mind you that was on an airstrip out in the open too though.

Turbo cars always seem somewhat quieter and muffled from the turbine in my experience (unless talking built motors with cams etc - that's another story).
