Just out of interest ,What makes the compression higher in LPG/ petrol engines?

Mainly the piston used which would be flatter then a turbo piston, also due to the higher octane rating in LPG the engine can then have a higher comp!

And with higer comp you can yeild better mechanical energy/power!

As turbo and supercharged motors compress the Air and Fuel prior to it entering the chamber the comp does not need to be as high as a NA application and typically have CR's of less then 10.5:1! With out taxis being anywhere from 8.5 - 9.0:1!

ok if you are on a budget the egas FG is perfect better rods & pistons than the n/a version, & on e85 or caltex flex there will be no issue with tuning....... with the right combo as we did one we've taken one well over to 350rwkw & runs perfectly also having more comp has more low down torque whitch feels like a worked v8................. its all in the tune

cheers

I have heard of people using decompression Gaskets. can this be used on an LPG engine ?

looks like the BA MKII motor with 87k on it is going in for just over 5K. Lee will check the tune to make sure it is safe and if not im up for an xcal and a tune. Anyone got a spare xcal 3 lyin around?

Why not a new short motor from ford? $2900 for a fg short, if heads ok then that might be the way to go. You can still get BF MK2 short motors for same price and bolt straight in. With FG short there's a couple of small things to do to fit it.

Well my head probably isnt the best ,There would be labour etc involved in getting the head checked and machined. Would end up costing more again, also its more cost effective to buy an F6 short.

Anyone know much about NPC flywheels? Apparently my BA was found to have one fitted after the donk was pulled. Not sure on the clutch yet but it is very heavy. My Bro inlaw had an FPV GTP (BF I think) and my clutch is much harder to push in.
