I'd first like to say hi to all the turbo nuts out there and how much I've learnt by reading all your posts. I guess buy now you can tell that I'm a newbee ..

2 years ago I worked my ass of to save up and buy the first new car I've ever owned , and you guessed it a FG xr6 turbo . I love it , bloody hell the thing still looks like I've just rolled it off the show room floor . Everyone knows just how good these cars are not only in looks but also in performance ( that includes all the BA,BF F6 FPV ) but I think its now time to have something a little bit different .

I guess you could say I'm on my own little personal ego trip. I don't want to go out and do a 10sec 1/4 mile nor destroy $450 a corner tyres in 5mins , but what I do want to know is that the car will pull like the space shuttle and pretty much leave a good 90% of all other cars on the road for dead ( especially holdens ) not a big fan .

So over the next couple of years I plan to build a car with no less than 450rwkw's and any were up to 550rwkw,s . I do know that this means a built motor ( rods pistons etc ) but I hade that last on my shopping list or would that be the first thing I should do to support all of the other mods to come ?.

I guess boys Im asking if you hade a stock FG xr6 turbo 6spd manual and hade a spare $9000 sitting in the bank and looking at achieving what I am , where would you start ???

Ild aim for 450 on the stock bottom end first with,

Full exhaust $1600

PW stage 2 is good for high 400s, need a stage 3 for 550. Think there around 2k?

Stainless 4" intake + battery relo. $650

Valve springs $800

Surge tank and 044 $1000

Injectors $500-$1000 (e85 ?)

Clutch $2000

Gtx3540/ hta37 $2000

That with tunig will probably come closer to $11 000. But should get 450+kw.

Or if you don't want to go over the 9k, keep the stock huffer on and just do cooler, exhaust, intake, injectors and tune.

Just remember to do mods that will help you reach your goal so your not buying parts twice.

You want a quick streeter you don't need that much power.

Also wouldn't go a manual either.

Personally for a project car I'd build a built BA with built 4 speed and blitz nearly every FG on the road for half the price.

But that's just me lol

Manual = more top end (higher mph) perfect for a quick streeter dillz!

Nah ya wanna finish it as quickly as possible, you shouldn't need top end. Why go to 200+ when you don't too?

Hay guys nice to hear from you so soon , and thanks for the honest replies . Have tossed the idea around weather to go to a auto but thought a good strong clutch and 6 gears might just be a little more fun .

Forgot to add that I live in Brisbane only an hour or so away from Elite Auto where Paul and the boys have looked after my car from day 1 , so having a good tuner is not a problem .

better be prepared for a new Mal Wood clutch as the stocker will fry in no time.

As Dillz said it's one thing having a nice laminated dyno sheet ,you will still need to get the power

down , otherwise it's just a smoke show and the less powerful Expensive Daewoo will get the jump on you.

I have 350 rwkw and it struggles big time for traction. If it's just a streeter only you are after anything more is probably

overkill IMO

If you're planning on running 450rwkw on the street, I hope you're not thinking of putting big tempe spec rims on it! You will need some nice wide 18" rims to allow a decent selection of semi-slick tyres with decent sidewall height if you want to have a chance at traction, which is what you'll need to "beat 90% of the cars on the road".

380rwkw/128mph is plenty enough power to torch most other street cars & can be done safely on a stock motor under budget, whilst also allowing enough coin for clutch upgrade. That's what I'd be aiming for if I were you...

No big bling wheels running 19inch dark agents with 245/35's . Starting to think that maybe my figures were a little ambitious if not a lot for the street .
