hey mate how'd you go?

Well we are doing some more work on the Dyno on Monday, as my new soft rear Kumho KU31's did not agree with the Dyno rollers, and basically were spinning giving inaccurate readings. What we could see was a discrepancy of up to nearly 800 rpm when comparing engine rpm and actual wheel speed on the dyno, and the tyres were getting VERY warm. We are going to try again with Simon's 'dyno tyres' so hopefully a better result. At the moment I am only running 17psi which gives me something north of 330 rwkw, but not sure exactly what at this stage...... Doesn't feel super fast yet though :idunno:

Engine still sounds terrific though, quiet as a mouse, runs extremely well and pulls better then any I have had before from low rpm, so somethings are going right.

OK so the update is that after fitting better tyres, I today had a few runs again, and this time it was MUCH BETTER, we got 371 rwkw on last run after Simon did a few more adjustments, so I'm happy with that considering the near stock turbo side I have, just shy of 500 hp at the tyres is not bad I think .

Engine is still very quiet, so very happy with that.

Nice one Allan, I bet it feels like a different car now! What was the final boost pressure?

Spike to about 20 psi, then drops to about 17. Better mid power range as well though.

Simon reckons I can't do anymore with the stock turbo, as exhaust back pressure cause slight pinging if we go any higher.

Nice one Allan, where to from here?

Also what is the comp ratio and what numbers do you see on a comp test?

Comp ratio is about 8.5:1, and I have not done a compression test after running engine in yet.

In terms of this engine, I have no further definite plans, as I am happy with the 370rwkw, and engine and rest of car will do this reliably day in and day out.

I may start having a quick look at the 'old' long motor, to see if I want to play a bit further with that one, or just sell it as is, not sure yet.

Ninka what oil did you use to run in your new engine. I have been told from a few different ppl a few different things. Like one bloke said to run it in with the same oil as what im going to run it on, then from someone else they reckon to run it in on a "run in oil like penrite". Figure I may as well ask someone who has good results from tried methods.
