Rear Control Arm Failure

Stock springs and yes the sway bar is 22mm, not sure if the bar had anything to do with it or there is not enough meat on the control arm at that point

same setup as mine

The later arms have a double skin on them, BF and FG I believe.

Neglecting the bushes can be a big issue for the arms too, when the original bushes get soft the link pin moves around and opens up the hole. This in turn allows up and down movement.

Mine is a 07/07 BF and I had the bushes replaced at around 40k, both control arm farked and replaced at 80k

Get a set of HD control arm links from P@ @ WHS. They remove the need for the bushes and also have a nifty stepped washer that effectivly doubles the load area on the control arm. In closing, they are most good.
