Had an idea about this a while ago with the BA. was looking at the time at the RTVs sump guard which was the same as on most police sedans for meridian strip mounting etc. I'm more interested in the cooling effects as posted in this article. :help: Anyone interested in a group buy if someone on this site can produce some? "Stainless" this is slightly directed at you. :ok:

Just consulted one of our mechanics at work. When he worked elsewhere out west, the shop used to remove all sump guards off the new munaros when customers complained about high engine temps at service time, most if not all were suffering from heat problems. Not sure if those 6ltr motors run hotter than the I6 does. Any thoughts???

Not sure about the under guard what ^^^^ said sounds like a good idea.

I have removed the rubber seal at the back of the bonnet. The windscreen wipers get pretty hot after a cruise around on a hot day.

Even after I have shut the car off I can feel the heat radiating thru the gap at the back of the closed bonnet.

The only downside I can see is the bonnet tends to have a bit of a wobble over bumps and what not but its very very minor, you only see it if your looking for it.

Maybe try that if your worried. Like someone else has said I will be refitting it come winter.

Kroozin thanks for the idea, I removed mine upon delivery of the car. I like the idea of shrouding the sides. might use hard rubber.
