My bf mk2 with custom tune and cai has stopped making the cool flutter noise when foot is let of throtlle. Its making a shhhh noise now. Ive checked all intake connections and cooler piping to see if something has come undone but all good. Also took off the battery terminals overnight to see if that would help, but it hasnt. Kinda freaking me out. Also when I give it abit of a boot the revs seem to get stuck at 3500rpm for a couple seconds then gets goin again. Its only started doing both of these things recently. Plugs were changed 3k ago so its not that. Coil packs? Rooted valve springs? Can anybody plz help me from doin my nut in... Cheers people!! How long has it been like this? Did it happen all of a sudden or slowly getting worse? Did you check all the piping???? Do you have a boost gauge u can see if your not making boost? It could also be a silicone hose or rubber joiner that has shat itself, might be in a hard to see place? Doubt its Vsprings and coil packs are cheap enough to change anyway even if to cancel them out as a problem.. Umm, I dont know if it was a gradual thing or it just happened. I didnt give the car a hard time for a couple weeks up untill saturday night. She copped a beating but was all good. Then sunday when I gave it a squirt I noticed it. I checked the cooler pipes, but pretty half assed. I took the whole cai kit apart n put it back together so its deffinatly not that. Ill suss out the cooler piping again. Anywhere I should look specificaly? I should probly take the front bar off to yeah? Or is there an easier way. Once again. Thanks for the feedback man

Either way could have been any of the piping.. But for me it was usually the one on the front of the turbo and once it happened on the hot side pipes. The std rubber joiner that connects to the throttle body is known to split and loose boost. I changed that and a couple of other joiners and my car over boosted.. They are very small things but also very important.. Front bar off would make it easier and it doesn't take long.Good luck mate.
