Hi guys,

Getting a JTG Gas conversion and custom tune soon. In the meantime I am looking at other support mods for reliability and am looking at cooler pipes. The two at my price point (sub $500) are the Herrod & Coolerworx.

On the surface they seem virtually the same, black powder coated aluminium, ribbed pipe ends, silicon joiners & spring clamps. I noticed in another thread that Herrods don't allow for 4 inch+ turbo side intakes, is that right?

If you guys were doing it which would you choose? And those of you that have done it, which did you choose and why?

Cheers,

Daniel.

Coolerworx kit on my car. You're correct, the Herrod kit does not suit turbo side airbox. Only thing though - both struggle to clear under the XR8 snork if you do that conversion (XR8 airbox). I had it - didn't fit properly - so ended up fitting an SS Growler.

Hi Bomber,

Thanks for the info. I think if I do anything with the standard airbox I will probably just cut some holes in the bottom, otherwise I will be heading for the turbo side intake and battery relocation.

Cheers,

Daniel.

yep, spot on mate. The amount of trouble I went through to attempt to retain it was a punish. I worked with coolerworx to attempt to modify their cold side pipes, which included taking my bar off twice. The last prototype ended up being hard on a bolt head on the rail which meant the pipe had nil movement. So in the end, went back to their original design and bought the Growler.

I had the exact same dilemma.. Am looking at putting the PW airbox and plazmaman battery relocation.. Sounds like coolerworx will suit both.. Thanks guys :-)
