Well another new toy has arrived, a set of kenko tubes. I attached the 36mm one and went for a stroll in the back yard, the difference in DOF is huge and the keeper rate went way down. Here's a lynx spider I managed to snap, dunno what the mag is or how to work it out but the 100mm was at 1:1. Pic hasn't been cropped.

Hey guys awesome thread to offer some insight into photography!

Always wanted to take awesome pics but couldnt justify a dslr, but my 21st is coming up and the mrs doesn't wanna buy me car parts (far enough lol) so considering a camera instead. Adam mentioned the 650d which is just under $1k with the twin lens kit 18-55mm and 55-250mm. Whats peoples opinions? Has this got much over the 600D, its just for beginner entry level

Basically my primary thing would be car photos. Second use would be just general holiday photos and stuff. Then random photos after that.

Learning to use it will be a different thing lol

600D is a fair bit cheaper in store than the 650D but online not a real lot of difference.

From what I gather the 650D has the following over the 600D:

built in HDR

Touch Screen

Higher fps

Auto focus on video recording

Full HD video recording

A software upgrade

Is this all?
