No one wants to pay the listed price on car sales. I listed a WRX for 25k (the redbook price) with over 12k spent on mods. I had people offering me as low as '12 grand + a pack of smokes'. If you want 45k list it for 47 to 50. Then people think they've gotten a bargain by talking you down to 45. But just be ready to get some ridiculous offers. LOLYeah but very few people will pay the listed price (same as walking into a dealership). Hence list it a couple grand higher.. Then they can negotiate it down. He still gets the 45k he is after and they are happy because they didn't pay the price it was advertised for.. List it for 45k on carsales and everyone will be offering 40-43.. Even if it's not listed as negotiable.I may end up listing it for 45k firm .... Not really interested in negotiating lower than that. I was giving advice based on personal experience of dealing with people through carsales websites in an attempt to get the figure you want.. Which sucks if you bought new!
