Stick it to him Scott, can't stand ppl that try and rip you off. Everyone has to put food on the table. If you can't pay for a job don't get it done!

Far from a ricer mate. I'm a fan of all types of cars and racing. The motec is the pinnacle, no doubt, but for this application is total over kill and will add many a curve ball.

Easy example:

Take a few secs to goggle any of the 6 sec GAS motor sports cars.( it similar). All run methanol, all run clutchless trans, all run Haltechs and the motors are just as high tech as a barra. I could get staged geared boost control using my $200 eboost if I wanted. Even a budget Microtech can be made to fully data log and do what's need to get from A to B in 7 secs. Current R35 GTR, what ecu are they piggy backing onto the factory Nissan computer? Can't tell me a drag barra is more hi-tech!

Find me the quickest Motec drag car and Il find you 10 quicker ones using a different, cheaper simpler ecus. A stripped out coon with Molly cage, a good rear clip and 32x15s on the back will come in well under 2 tonnes. Even if you make as much as the biggest HP current taxi, it will be smash the current record. It really is that simple, the physics involved with drag racing havnt changed.

Syvecs S8 R35 State of the art ECU has arrived.....very very nice!

syvecsbits.jpg

this is the latest ecu for the r35 has a bunch of features ud never believe and yes the 35 makes use of the ecu very well bunch of extra programable launch control measures and all sorts of things , but again the right device is needed to work with a 35 for instance .this is arguable the most hi tech car under 200k on the planet atm in stock form , but like anything refinement is still achieveable

the issue as was speaking with the ba series is the bcm unit ( note this is if u want to retain the cars stock interior, dash features) this is where the motec steps in and as I was asking spiro the haltech does NOT have the facility to make these items work with the bcm yet

Jets= I was only using the haltech as an example, Im by no means a brand loyal person when it come to ECU's ( I actually have a 12 year Microtech in my car hahahah). If what you say is true about the Haltech, does that mean that the plug and play one that Dragons lair sell still needs the standard ecu left to run the BCM? http://www.dragonslairmotorsports.com/online-store/#ecwid:mode=product&product=5698149

My good mate was actually in NSW on the weekend getting at an Haltech training seminar, Il hit him up on sat night if anything was said about the barra ones. He loves his haltechs, He tunes them nicely and actually has one running his 450rwkw turbo V8.

In any case, I doubt a full stripped out Drag car would need a BCM anyway yeah?

That thing you linked for the GTR would be intense, I wonder if anybody in Australia would be capable of tuning it? Expensive fk out if someone was "just having a shot" hahaha
