Kwik... r u 100% sure it wasn't low on oil.... sometimes when u fill up when u have a trans cooler it seems full but after driving for a few mins it's low and needs a top up ..... same thing happened to me previous after fitting a trans cooler and the next day I topped up oil and was good as new ....

Maybe with trans cooler needs a bit of extra oil to fill the lines and cooler etc maybe I dunno.....

Guys I'm looking for some help on SA workshops. Having recently bought the BA, and it being 9+years old, I want to give it a full going over. Trans service, diff oil change, engine oil change, new plugs, TB clean, etc.

First off trans & diff - where would people recommend I go for full flush & service of each? I would prefer somewhere near Keswick so can take it prior to work, BUT Will also consider anywhere between Trott Park & Keswick. (Will probably have a trans cooler installed also)

Then the remaining service items - I'm not so keen on doing them myself as Im not physically as able as I used to be (damn arthritis!) so would prefer a workshop or perhaps a kind sole who has some spare time on a weekend to help me out?

Cheers

Lee

Bruce heinrich at lonsdale. . That's all I can recommend if u can't do it yourself. .

Drive a bit further and u will be greatful for it.

Probably on the money there Fluff, lines and cooler probably take another 1.5 - 2 litres depending where its mounted.

Yay I'm not completely stupid hahah .

If u let the car run whilst topping up it should avoid this issue .....

I'm guessing maybe the person who filled it was going by normal requirements for a zf rather than allowing for the cooler...

Same circumstances as what happened to us coz it drove fine o the way home then felt like chit next day..

That would be why it felt fine when u connected the heat exchange as it wasn't needing the extra oil for the cooler and trans lines.....

this machine silvio's mate uses extracts the old oil while replacing it millilitre for millilitre with the new oil, apparently it is very accurate, so shouldnt have been down on oil. What was the condition of the old oil like? Maybe cooler got blocked up with the old crap and created an air lock?

along with fluffs suggestion too lol

I have had he cooler on for nearly 12 months. Surely when they dropped the oil they would have noticed the trans cooler. Standard lines were not connected to the heat exchanger. Pretty f*cking pissed. Wasn't a cheap oil change. One would think they could get the oil right. I too thinks its low on oil. It ran like sh*t again today. Not selecting D or R when warming up. Gave it a few revs and it dropped in gear. Got to the lights and again wouldn't drop in gear, just reved. Dropping it to Bruce tomorrow to sort out. Will ring the place I got it serviced at and see what the go is. Not having a car for the past few days has been a hassle. See what happens!

I should have taken it to Bruce from the start. My own fault for goin else where. I'm sure they thought it was all good but clearly not. Will speak with them tomorrow. Can't exactly drop it back as they are over the other side of town from me. Rather take it to Bruce to fix there errors as I know the job will be done right the first time.
