Yeah cool, PCV valve would be cheap just to eliminate that, when my mates back at work will get him to do a leak down and bore scope check to suss it out, will then make a decision then on what combo if needed. Thanks for the inputs guys, even the Vic's have popped in to give some :beerchug:

Slip it down to Bruce, and get it checked properly. Only guesses otherwise.

If you gunna go the Spool way, get better pistons as well. Do it once properly.

ask bruce what he thinks of the so called better pistons

Bruce did always say that to me, and if anyone knows around here it would be him, and I figured you would know enough too.

Something about a stock piston will take a little pinging in the case of bad fuel and shyt, and forged just crack or something along those lines, forgies also give off a terrible rattle too.

New FG short with Spool rods be the go?

Everyones got an opinion on pistons. I know the rods are the weak link in the XRT engine, but why not go the best while you have it down?

I hope it turns out something simple Foon.

Yeah thanks Johno :)

OT, seems SACF6's FG F6 has been spotted on the back of a flatbed going to a salvage auction or something along those lines with a fried clutch, whats the go SAC?

I am playing safe with my new F6 engine, and running a very mild tune for a few ks(done about 4,000)

Nearly have the rebuilt auto run in, and it feels a lot better than before(thankfully) Very happy with Dave at DRW.

May have to come back up to Adelaide for a tune in the future, my local tuner is leaving, and going to work for Herrods,

so no one down here then. (still running VCM tune, will go back to SCT)

get it checked by Bruce,If you need a new short get yours rebuilt if you have the time and I hear the new shorts dont have the bf dipstick hole anymore

I have mine with spool rods, oil pump and standard pistons good for 500 rwks with the right setup

Yeah I will, don't want to waste Bruce's time checking mine out for issues will get my mate to do it for me, but if/when it comes time to build I will rebuild mine, thankfully haven't got rid of my 3rd car yet so won't need it done in a hurry Bosco, I will source a PCV valve tomorrow and see if that works, doesn't take long to figure out if it hasn't.
