Well put. I think sometimes a few peeps on here are harsh towards other tuning shops, spesh when there forum sponsors.

I'm sure we are all mates here and of course everyone has there own points of view too.

I must have been at a differant event. I dont recal raving or waffling. I dont recall saying anything about cheap. Did I speak with you? I was given the microphone to say something, so I spoke.

Dont forget we are a Ford Turbo and V8 workshop as well as Holdens 6cyls and V8s . Why would we waffle over one particular brand or even more narrow minedly over one particular engine. Other than our KPM Ford car and possibly one other I saw no Ford representaion on dyno.

If you define waffling as participating ,KPM will always allow the indepenant testing of our vehicles to waffle for us eg drag strip / race track / dyno or even a simple exhaust upgrade. Our waffling is always in the results achieved. Why. Because we do this for a living. Our Turbo cars were proven at similar public events in 05 when first released. We were amongst the first in S.A to waffle over the BA XR6T. Now we are amongst the first to waffle over the Miami engine. I am sure I will be waffling over future geniunely impressive Ford and Holdens vehicles.

More positevly, I do agree, and redirect the focus on many great custom and enthusiast cars today.

I have been a ford fan all my life. When my mate and I had our birthdays a couple of years back for a bit of a laugh we went and got suparoo tatts on our legs, and still wear them with pride, and I've put a suparoo decal on every ford I've owned. As I'm sure you could guess almost every car I've owned has been a Ford!

I also have plenty of mates who drive Holdens and are as passionate about them as I am about Ford. I don't dislike them, or despise them, in fact the rivalry keeps the friendships quite healthy. at the end of the day, it's really just a badge. But in the same way as I devote my passion to a particular manufacturer, I also happen to devote my passion to the tuners who work on my cars, and choose them by what I believe they offer the market in technical innovation, quality, eye for detail and at the end of the day, reliable performance. I have personally chosen without outside influence to go through one particular tuner. I chose him firstly because of location (he was 5 minutes around the corner from me), secondly because I worked in the automotive industry in lonsdale and everyone I worked with recommended him, and thirdly I am a repeat customer because of the quality of his work, price and customer satisfaction.

Now that's not to say I don't choose KPM because they don't offer these same things, and I'm sure that they offer in many areas products unique to the market that can not be offered anywhere else (and I gotta say I did peruse through the KPM listings on this forum and came across the GS420... very nice). I'm sure there is quality and research in every product and service that they offer, and they have some great results to show for it! My choice comes down to individuality, Quality and customer service, price, and power results that speak for themselves - but that's not to say I wouldn't ever use KPM, I just always found the service I require right around the corner from me.

At the end of the day, it's almost as much of an argument over the badge on the building as the badge on the car...

And a nice car is a nice car - regardless of badge or tuner!

kpm are a business- they need to makea profit or they wouldnt be there.....

if anyone is not happy with the price then they are free to go somewhere else.

the black streetfighter coming out of their workshop looks killer though.....

hehe would love to see a homegrown south aussie 'tune off' for sure.... would be very interesting =)

anyone see one of the last editions of motor mag?

they did the final 'tuners' segment with local tuners from across australia and all ford vs holden. The power outputs weren't very high for heavily tuned cars... guess it was more about putting power to the ground than achieving high rwkw readings???

woulda been nice to see more turbo 6 action up against the 8's, then again I get the idea that manufacturers would hate to have you believe their Hairy chested V8's could get blitzed by a 6Cyl Turbo with basic modifications - and all for half the price!!

yeh especially the F6, the mods to that should have seen 1000HP and it only claimed 295rwkw on a mainline dyno or something stupid... basically stock! not a good figure for $40,000 worth of modifications...

yup motor mag has always been a bit average for car comparisons me thinks

but massive props to herrod motorsport for there GENUINE 400rwkw+ GT and that was a basically s.a done car through martin donnon(willall racing)

I believe it to be the most powerful v8 on the tuner challenge, the streetfighter didnt make plus 400 once according to the magizine. (is that independantly tested?)

no name bashing will go on in here it has been discussed with particual members and theres a fine line between having a good time and hammering the compitition, be warey what u say !!!!!!!!!

who's name bashing nothing but respect here.

Just asking a question.!

And boasting of results achieved for a good price . Because the results speak for them selves.
