gotta learn more about these xcal3's... don't know sh*t about them apart from ya plug em in and they make you go faster... I thought most sct's had 3 available tunes on them? can you just plug these things in and change what tune you have (say between a e85 tune and a standard high performance tune?) or do you have to start manually changing things? would've imagined boost was manually controlled, how can a computer give you more?

ecu controls boost, timing etc, so yep a xcal 3 will change all that. I run 20psi now with only mods to turbo is an actuator change and tune.

when I have e85 I plug it in and upload the tuned bruce put in when it was dyno'd. takes 3 mins.

when im out of go go juice I reflash it back to 98ron tune.

sorry I admit I am pulling a bit of a 'turbo 101 for dummies' here... basically I saw this dick on gaybay flogging off his x3's - read the description on this! (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-FLASH-TUNER-X3-BA-BF-FG-XR6T-XR8-FPV-GT-GTP-F6-/180742097709?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a15118b2d) would you trust a guy who can't spell idle, firm, axle, limiter and so forth?? lol

I can understand the claims about spark, idle, rev limit, etc etc, but had some trouble getting my head around how a flash tune could increase your boost(but gather it all has to do with electronic wastegates contolled by ecu's), and as for axle ratio I would have thought that required a ratio change?

spot on. he puts 750 on the receipt (I think- dont quote me) so theres no backlash from 'lesser' tuners...

-ones that dont put out with every tune...
