Sooooo replacing the standard sub. Anyone done it? Want to get a bit better quality more than anything. Would like to keep factory amp and factory sub spot so a free air sub I think Is what I need? Any recommendations? Cheers

Yep, free to air is correct, I upgraded to a 10" digital designs in my old BA, took a bit of trimming, original is 8".

I'd stick with the better quality stuff. Free to air sub quality is drastically different when compared to the cheaper stuff.

I would go with a DLS OA8 or the Image Dynamics ID8, both would work really well, ideally with a larger amplifier but should work ok with stock

I remember reading a post "somewhere" where they bought a $40 8' from Jaycar and was very impressed with it.

Post would of been in the 'Audio' section of the forum I guess but using the phone atm and too hard to look ----------------------------------- coz lazy :)

Home now and found the post I was thinking of

Anyone got pics of the standard sub (the magnet and any labels), how big is the magnet? How much RMS is provided to the sub?

Wondering if this Jaycar driver would be worth it - it's only $39.95 and is 89db/w. Sure it only handles 90w RMS but that is plenty for day to day.

Check that one out D1STRBD. May be worth a try for the price

Bloke coming over tomorrow to have a look old xr50 wheels for 1k. Hopefully hes happy with them and takes them off my hands or He wanted to do a trade $500 and his 19" g6e wheels but haven't seen the wheels yet. Might be another option maybe.

Why would you want g6e wheels? ?

You're obviously not running a spare wheel so think of -something- that will give you the same diameter as what the rear is now (as that will be fine on the front as well) but sell your originals outright I reckon
