This is not ragging on KPM, they have never done anything to me, but just a general observation, and if Dave from KPM is open to it he may just take it on board.

I frequent 3 main forums (not just fords) and KPM's interaction is all the same, its about their records or new products, but they don't interact with people freely. Granted they must be doing well to run TV ads and the like, and like I said good parts.

But being in the scene does give you a good view of who people use for their work, not everyone frequents forums, but a lot go on cruises, do shows like AFD etc, and drag events and then you do see the cross section of customers. This is even on the darkside of the universe in the Late model camira scene too.

Just got the word someone wants me to try a new custom stall convertor in my BA before he starts to go official with builds for people, they have been proven in the N/A but now need a turbo to test the new product.

Have you ever used Dave at DRW Automatics Gilly?, always hearing awesome things about his work and its reliability, and seen some of what his handy work can stand, he also stands by his stuff too, and is great to speak to.

Nah I haven FOON,all my trans work has been done by SA Race(VH,VX,BA) but have a feeling someone else can build a stronger BTR......Tri-matic,Glide,4L60E,C4 etc Sam every day of the week but I think some other places have more "track" R&D than Sam's BTR's but not sure yet who to build the trans itself. We will see what comes of this convertor deal,I am not sure if it's a buisness or not as all I have is a number and a name to ring along with basic details.

Sam's customer service and warranty is great,if his parts have failed and car has been driven to the capabilities of the trans then he will cop it....1 of my built transmissions expired but it was my fault and told him this straight up,the tri-matic and 4L60E were more at home to skids and lengthy stall up so they loved it where as the BTR's don't,especially when only a build that's meant for 1/4 mile work and hard street....a 3k all up fitted BTR wont cop this abuse above and that's what I had in my car.he does stronger ones at 4k plus but we will see,at the end of the day his attitude etc is priceless so I may head back their again lol.

I have signed a document that states I can't give out any info on the product as it will go to production if my trial comments are what they want to hear. It's costing me nothing at all and is primarily aimed at std BTR transmissions, huge economy gains are expected also.

From the gains the convertor gave N/A all I can say is exciting times ahead I recon........10 second pass on donkey trans and std size stall modified is systems go......and on the 350rwkw non E85 tune baby!

I need to get the 60ft down to 1.60 and have a slip free run on the 2-3 change for it to happen.....totally doable imo as 2psi launch gives me a 1.75 60ft so I'll step it up to 5psi to get the 1.6x.Car will be going to Bruces early next week(yet to ring lol) so I can use his hoist as he has a crap load more than my uncle(1 only).

The street meeting is now on the saturday during the Nitro Funny Car meeting so ill be saving her for the late afternoon/evening to log some times/data.I have the stally in my hot hands right now, fella drove 2hrs to deliver it:)

IMHO... I think KPM are pitching at an entirely different market. You gotta think of your Dad not yourself, who has just upraded from his HQ with a 350 or XB GT to something with a 'few more modern luxuries'. He's thought about this for a long time and now it's time to buy it's no expense spared, and he drives of down the road in his 335 GT or F6. He gets confused as to why the shifter has a + and - on it and don't even ask about the GPS, he's a stubborn bastard and even though he wanted luxury no ones gonna beat his pride and show him how to use the bloody GPS. Then he looks under the hood and thinks geez cars have changed a lot from the old days, what the hell was wrong with a 600 Holley four barrel in the first place? And the whole concept of forced induction goes straight over the top. Oh well I'm sure a good exhaust won't go astray, but then his mate tells him to do that he's gotta get it tuned. He drives down to his local tuner and sees a bunch of young ford blokes with their turbos and thinks "bloody young hoons" even though he was once one himself. Not understanding the scene at all he quietly backs away. Anyway while sitting in his favourite chair and sipping a beer... a KPM add comes on TV and makes big vroom vroom noises and makes him think the opposition won't stand a chance at the next set of lights... and now the kids moved out and the house paid off money is no problem... KPM get themselves a faithful brand new customer!

Just wait till he sees the streetfighter! CHA CHING!!!!
