Hi all again,

Well I finally got my xr6t after threatening to cancel the order at the Ford dealer. But of course it isn't without problems.

Firstly, they didn't put the car mats in like I asked but I did received them. Am I right in assuming I need to cut holes in the carpet to screw the floor mat hooks into the floor? This seems pretty silly because there's no markers on the carpet indicating where the holes underneath it are. I don't want to be slicing up my carpet trying to find these holes.

Secondly, it appears the iPhone 4 is not entirely compatible with the entertainment system through the cable... it shows up as unsupported. You can still play music (need to press play on the iphone to get it started) and skipping songs works through the steering wheel button, but you don't get the song details on the display unit. The other thing I found insanely stupid was that the cable is only for playing music and the bluetooth is only for making calls. Why don't they add blue tooth audio by default? Craziness!

I'm pretty surprised about how much I'm enjoying this car and its power. I didn't think I'd have as much fun in a car as I do on my motorbike. But the first corner I took after driving the car out of yard I gave it a tickle and the traction control went mental. I don't think I'd be enjoying this as much if I bought an auto.... the manual is heaps fun. Going to try launch control or whatever it's called this weekend.... sounds like it needs to be dry though. :D

The floor hook should have instructions on how and where to place them and they usually only self tap into the carpet so no pre drilling of holes. As for Iphone4 I dont know.

My iphone 4 works with the car stereo perfectly. Id be taking it back.

Your iPod will sound much better via the cable rather than via blue tooth. The work Lo-lux that it use has both and when using the cable has a much better sound.

My Iphone 4 used to work with the Stereo.. Then after a software update I have the exact same problem as the OP.. That's through the Ipod cable in the glove box.. I was wondering whether there was an update to the ICC that might've fixed it..

Sorry yeah to clarify.. It was an Iphone Software update about a week after I got the car and it just puts up that it's an incompatible device.. But Skip still works.. Not the biggest problem in the world.. But if there is a fix out there I'm in.
