I dont know much about fitting sway bars so I was going to get them done at a shop.

I was quoted $600 for whiteline front and back non adjustable fitted by Pedders?

Does that sound like a reasonable price or a little exy?

fitting the rear is very easy, so much room to work and a total of 6 bolts in 2 different sizes to undo and retighten. Front is the same but just a bit less room. If you are on AFF there is a group buy going on whiteline bars or call pat from wholesale suspension for a price.

I think they would be charging around $350 for parts and $250 for labour by the looks of that quote.

Bit pricey for something so easy to do yourself - but hey they have to make coin don't they

Dude fitting is piss easy.. The hardest part would be jacking the car up lol.. Took me and my old man about 30mins... Have some grease on hand, cause you need to grease up the new bushes that come with it..

I was looking at doing this yesterday too but it kinda looks like the sway bar links will foul on what ever it was behind it when they are set back into the new holes.

Just an update on my dodgy sway bar modification.......It worked.....but!

If you dont drill the holes perfecty straight and as close as physically possible to the size of the original hole you get problems. The sway bar link gets movement and gets an annoying clicking noise to it.

I could fix this wth some high tensile washers but I have returned to the original hole because I found that the stiffer front setting actually caused more roll in the rear.

I reckon without doing the rear it really stuffs up the balance of the car. After performing this experiment I would honestly say that I would not spend money on sway bars unless I purchased both at once, as all it did was cause a little extra understeer, and more body roll in the rear than before!

Too be honest, lowered springs and reasonable shocks makes for a pretty nice all rounder with the standard bars. In saying that I am still considering spending the money and purchacing both bars.....but I dont want to be disapointed after spending all that cash, as I could be spending it on something elseas I am modifing on a budget.

Food for thought anyways.

sorry guys, didn't check back in time for that group buy link.

When you altered the sway bay did you try usind adjustable sway bar links, I think the'd help when changing holes. Also makes it a lot easier for you to run a half way setting - one stock hole and the other end on your new hole.

When I had stock power I actually drove with just the rear bar done and a stock front one, Oversteer was fun but not quick. With both it handled so much better.
