Hey guys, I was told to use fully synthetic oil in the turbs by my machanic so I was getting prices on castrol edge 0w-40 and they were around the $70 mark for 5L. I rang Ford to see how much their oil was and was told $31.50 for 5L????? When I questioned the price difference I was told they dont use a fully synthetic oil as you dont need too. The service guy said either oil is fine as long as you stick with either synthetic or mineral and dont chop and change.

What do you guys reckon

The 40 is the important number on the oil if driving normally. As for full syn or semi just pay the money and go full I reckon.

I use the nulon 10-40 full synth because it is the closest to the manuals 15w40 recommended oil.

Nulon or Royal Purple 10w-40.. Nulon is the common choice.. Royal Purple is for special occasions..

It always starts healthy debate this one. 0-40w is too thin for our engines IMO. Have read storied of how 'chattery' the top end sounds running this weight oil. I run the nulon 10-40W and it loves it. No nasty noises on start up - doesn't burn a drop.
