You zoom in just up until the point when it gives you a magnified view and shoot. If you kept the target in sight you will always get a kill. In mw3 the L118A, Barrett 50cal. and the MSR are all one shot kill snipers. Just makes sense, why spray which a SMG or Assault Rifle when you can pop them off in one shot.
