Does anyone know what the widest tyre you can put on an XR6T? Looking at getting some wheels, so need to know max width so I can look at my options. Width in Rim size or Tyre width is fine.

Conversion at bottom...

295 would mean pumping gaurds on a BA. J.d has them on his FG ute with no gaurd work though.

Il'd go with 275s on a 9.5" for no scrubbing.

What diameter rims are you looking at? 18" 19" or 20" ?

For the BA/BF it seems that normal is 8" for front width and 245/30's (not 35) are all you can do for the front without hitting ball joints. Any wider and your pumping guards and rolling lip and camber adjustment.

Rear is up for debate depending on diameter and offset. Normal is 9.5" max and 265/30, maybe 275/30 without modifying. Any wider and your pumping guards and rolling lip and camber adjustment.

So how wide is wide enough? Heaps of guys on this site have 19" for BA/BF's, a few with 10" or even 10.5" ( tocchi ).Definately will get some good advice on here.

Hope this helps.

Well I have a choice for the rears. I wanted wider for grip,.

18x8.5 Mid/High (not sure what mid high refers to)

or

18x10 , I need to check the offsets, im going to the shop tomorrow should be able to get the specs there...

I want 18x10 on back from grip etc, hoping it will fit...

18 x 10 won't fit on the back. The centre of the inner wheel will touch suspension components.

20 x 10 will fit.

18 x 9.5 will fit (with 265-275 tyre) ranging from 30 to 38 offset depending on lowering and rear negative camber.

The tyre compound is more important anyway. Neova ado8, bridgestone re11 are the best best street semi's going in my opinion for all round ability.

^^ my rear neg. camber is -1deg and sits around 323-330mm static depending on fuel and crap in the boot..

What offset with the 9.5's would suit?

Looking to run a 265 if possible and the guards aren't rolled... but can roll'em if 275's will work obviously that would mean more choice with offset too..?
