(hence off the site)Syphon, thanks mate. Thought that was the case $$ wise, think they will be my best options for sure.Interesting though, I actually went to one of the only turbo places down here who reported the following; "Don't bother with a new Garrett ball-bearing or rebuilding on your old T, a new cheap journal bearing will do 90% the job for less than half as much"......I am aware that journal is inferior and old-technology, especially in non-stock applications. However, to give some perspective, this T is part of a marriage seperation agreement and she wants it. Hence the cheapest possible fix purely to get it back on the road may be my preferred option.....Is this place right and journal will bolt on fine and not affect anything else, other than be inferior to Garrett??? (quoted me a new GT35/40 journal turbo for $750 installed and said "perfectly OK for most cars, not quite as good but then much less $$ if you aren't keeping the car")It probably sounds stupid (so don't shoot me down!), but in the circumstances thought I'd ask the question. Thanks in advance, much appreciated. Edited 11/10/11 06:59 AM by CBXRT

From what I could pick up, I actually think the place quoted me something like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GT35-GT3582-TURBO-suits-T3-RX7-XR6-Skyline-WRX-EVO-/120680369224?_trksid=p3286.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D4%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D3395868081959873151But maybe Luke you are right, just get the core and hope for the best that the housing isn't rooted.....Thanks again lads, drawn out post for sure so I appreciate your help (I don't want the ex to get even 1 cent more than required as she has my old house....)
