Pricing one I believe was around $400 but my mate said that all it does is regulate fuel consumption. Is that the only function it has? and should I bother replacing it if my fuel consumption is in the normal range?

Best I used as some of the cheap one's can make your car worse, just ask forum member JMAN.

IE are BA and BF O2 sensors the same? Do they both have two or is there only one on BA? Edited 25/09/11 05:07 AM by -SteveR-
Dush73 Member 56 Member For: 14y 3m 5d Posted 30/09/11 03:36 AM Share Posted 30/09/11 03:36 AM I replaced mine thinking it was the cause for my high fuel consumption & due for replacement(85K on the clock) but it did squat to improve fuel consumption, & its a bitch to get to(dump pipe on BA).The BA's have 1 & the BF's have two. When I was researching it I found the BA are different to the BF's, although e-bay sellers will say they are both compatible. The one I got from ebay cost about $70 & was identical to the original one(I have a BA).

Usually if the O2 sensor is faulty the PCM will default to a rich mixture, but depending on how it faults, the O2 sensor may just provide a constant output to the PCM (not completely sure about the constant output idea)... Hope that helps...

Not having a working one will just use a little extra fuel.

I hear that the computer will always send that fault if the exhaust has been modified.Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
Jesse Williams Member 7 Member For: 13y 23d Posted 01/02/12 04:31 AM Share Posted 01/02/12 04:31 AM Aftermarket CATs will give you a engine light as fords only like 'euro' cats. This will result in your system leaning out and potential detonation. Replacing the CAT requires a flash tune.Done alot of research recently with the exhaust side. Replacing your o2 sensor will make the car run alot nicer.
