The car CAN NOT overpower the traction control if tuned properly, traction control controls the throttle too amongst many other things and if you're being an idiot and keep the boot in it will close the throttle appropriately so no amount of boost should over power it. That's the way I understand it anyway...

How much power are all of you with this problem running?

It would be a setting the tuner could turn on/off. Im gueesing it's the tuners preference as to how they set it.

Micks left mine working which is great for a manual ute in wet weather.

Dont confuse Torque management with Traction control. Tractions control uses the braking system to reduce wheel spin.

Torque management use Spark retard, Fuel Cut and ETC to control engine torque

Ratter has responded to this in the Ford Forums.

Seems like a relatively normal thing.. Makes sense to me that it'd shut it down instead of attempting to control wheel spin under WOT.

Quite common, the car will drive through the traction control easier now that it is tuned if you keep your foot into it, if you lifted immediately it normally works reasonable.

Once it has been driven through, the light will stay on no matter what you do with the button until the car is turned off and then restarted and then all is as per normal.

Is there anyway you can report the items to Ebay as they don't do what the descriptions state? I've gotta admit I've been contemplating getting rid of mine.. It's a bit dusty but I'm sure someone could use it :biglaugh:

Anyways back on topic.

This traction control issue actually sounds like your cars are overpowering the ability of the traction control system so the car is shutting it down to protect the drivetrain.

If you're giving it the boot so much why do you want traction control on?????

I don't give mine the boot a lot only now and then but it just becomes frustrating to know I can't turn it back on !

Speak to your tuner and see if he can sort it out...

If it was my car I'd want it functioning properly for just in case but when you want to play turn it off.

I've got 270kw and no matter what you do it will not turn off so with another 40kw it should not be just turning off at first sign of wheel spin.

I like the way it has the image of a car doing a skid.

Light is on - skids are about to occur! Or would be happening if the TC wasn't there (flashing).

Never had mine stay lit after it engages though (only stay lit when I hold button to disable) and I've given it hell when stock or tuned. BFII ZF auto.

No worries thanks for the info guys, it just seems a bit irish to me that to have traction control off the light has to be on! anyway thanks again...

Bit offended by your comment there. I'm Irish and I'm not the dumbass who couldn't figure out that traction control (a safety feature) is turned on as standard.

Further more of course the light is on when traction control is off. that's why there called warning lights!
