Doesn't the car have any service books/history?

The mere fact that's the case (if it is) for such a new car would make me a little worried not only about ks, but also maintenance etc etc. Books don't lose themselves.

Will probably be fine as they are tough cars (and odo is high anyway so doubt its tampered), but its best to know all this before you buy, not to try and work out after! :spoton:

Was stupid to buy the car THEN start questioning it. Ah well. Gave up on finding out. Ford service said it "can't" be tampered with. Wasn't going to argue. Just them not keen on investigating it, up to them.

Better start saving for a turbo rebuild or replacement now to be on the safe side. Usually the first thing to go after you rack up the k's right?

Unless it's heavily modified or being driven like it's being chased by all the demons of hell, your turbo should be the least of your worries.. Your turbo only becomes a huge problem if you've modded it without a tune and it's prone to overboosting..

You'd be better to just make sure the usual suspects are okay: Gear Box and Diff..

That's my two bob anyways.

It must have been a good buy, so its easy to forget the details.

Not necessarily mate, I've done 180,000Ks on original turbo (and everything else) so you should have plenty of ks left before any major problems! (if kept stock - if modded then yes, life of engine/turbo/gearbox shortened dramatically) :spoton:

Ah, cheers. Good to know. Cars untouched in that regard at least. Take it that diff/auto issues aren't cheap or fun. It is a little hesitant to decide what gear it wants, does do a bit of a clunk after a corner in the back... figured that was just it being a relatively cheap car. :S

I've got an 08 build FG ute.. The Diff is clunky.. Apparently it's not 'bad'.. Sounds shocking though to me.. I'd recommend dropping the oil out of the diff and putting in some 80W-140 full synthetic (1.7L required) makes a pretty big difference.. I don't hear mine clunking in the cab anymore.

Also check the spare tire is actually secured properly.. I've heard of a couple banging around a bit.

If you have modded or done a lot of Ks service the ZF pan , filter and fluid.

Give it a bit of some spirited driving so the adaptive tech learns your driving style

Your diff bushes might also be shagged

Seats are actually pretty good. Steering wheel and auto shifter are shiny as though O_o .. Indicator and washer stalk crusty. Dash with weird marks.

$10.00 on crash repair....
