I started to hear a noise coming from the rear of my car and decided to do some research on the xr6t forums. The noise was clunks at low speed (lsd clicking in and out) as well as a grinding noise when the driveline was under constant load (around 40 and 60, probably happened a higher speed just couldn’t hear it) I thought it may have been the bushes so I took it to my mechanic to look at replacing them. He informed me my bushes are fine but my diff oil has metal flakes through it. My new car warranty has run out (26/8/11) but I still have 3weeks stat warranty with metro ford. I called metro ford to see what could be done about this issue. I was stuffed around having to contact three different people before being told to take it to my local ford in Goondiwindi for them to have a look at and for them to give metro ford a call. I went to pick the car up this afternoon and I was 1st told by Goondiwindi for to take it to metro to fix(not an option when I'm 5h away and have a wedding in a week). When I said this wasn’t an option I was told they could fix it at Goondiwindi ford but I'd have to pay for it and then I could get my money back after ford aus put through the claim??? I have to ring them tomorrow afternoon so they can clarify this. There is no way that I will hand them money. Has anyone else had similar problems or been in the same situation?

That Gundi dealer is probably right.

Factory warranty claims can be done by any Ford dealer, but your factory one has run out.

The warranty you have left is with that dealer you bought it off.

You may have to take it back to Metro Ford to have it fixed.

If you pay to get it fixed in Gundi, I don't like your chances of being reimbursed by metro Ford

Thanks for the post. The Goondiwindi ford are fixing the car (only after hearing from metro ford) and if ford aus dont cover it under the new car warranty metro are going to foot the bill. metro ford seemed fairly confident that it could still be covered because it has only just run out. I just hope the quality of the repair is good. I guess I'm lucky. By the way I love the colour of your ute :buttrock:

Mate, get metro to give consent for the repair in writing. You might feel like an ass demanding it... but all they need to do is say "I don't know what your talking about" afterwards and it ends in tears.
