I wasnt saying they are crap just that there are other mods like the f6 intake that give similar results for a lot less cash. SLASH was on the money IMO.

I run a growler on my FG because the V8 box and snork didn't clear my intercooler pipe kit. I was lucky to pick one up s/hand that had only done 300klm on a car for $250. I wouldn't pay $600 but think you can get them for around $400ish with discount. The fit and finish on the FG version is very good IMO. Agree the BF series was not as good, but they have built a new top for it now with the cut-outs like the FG.

A member here had their FG F6 tuned recently and their V8 box with K&N ran out of puff approaching 500rwhp. He's not keen to go turbo side and lose the crossover, so the growler is the next best option should he wish to crack the number and keep it fairly stock looking.

All said, you can't beat turbo side for power. If that's the only factor in the decision, then go that way :spoton:

I lost my topic :swoon: im not a fan of the factory crossover, not just for looks, mostly efficiency .

im considering under battery cai instead of batt relocate cai due to the fact I want to install myself

any opinions on under bat intake - worth doing or paying someone in the know for bat reloc or is it a doable task? <ute>

If you buy something like the PW battery relocation kit, it's easier than fitting an UBI. The battery mounts up behind the fog light, and the intake is a easy to fit. No cutting like with a UBI, and the filters still in an easy spot to service. Plus sounds better and supports more power.

cheers Henz, just checked out PW webby, http://www.processwest.com.au/website/prod_xr6t/pw_product_fordxr6_batteryrelocation.htm (the terminals that come with the pack look dodgy) looks easy enough, much or any diff between that set up to yours?

At the moment I run the Plazmaman 3" Turbo side Intake and Battery relocation that puts a drycell in the stock spot to make room. to be honest im not really happy with it at all.

Soon I'll be putting the battery behind the bar and doing a proper 4" Intake with a decent sized filter.

I had that PW kit in my last car and the terminals looked pretty tidy once installed.

At least I know if it can make 358 then 320 should be a breeze.

Its made over 400 on other cars, just looks like poo & has a pretty small filter for that level. Also sits the pod in a stupid spot.
