Mine has been serviced with Tranzmax Z, shifts are fine when cold but it does the rev hunt until it warms up which it never used to do. Started a little while after having it serviced. It bugs the hell out of me but Simon advised it's fine and all the autos he's ever owned have done the same thing? Is it the torque converter locking/unlocking? I worry it will cause premature wear. It's really noticeable in 5th at say 80km/h up a slight incline, yo-yos about 250RPM.

Mine did the same with Transmax in it. Changd it back to the factory Life Guard 3 weeks ago and the issue is gone, chanes smoother and no hunting anymore

I'm gonna try the Transmax. Guy at work's neighbor is the Castrol rep for Bundaberg and he's seeing how much he can do it for for me. Retail was $300 for 20L. Even that's a quarter of the genuine price. Worth a shot I reckon. A few guys on here have mentioned problems, but others love it and a few have big numbers coming out of their cars.

Does anyone think if non-genuine is used it should be changed more regularly?

I've used ZF, transmax and now GW and to be honest the transmax was prob best followed by GW. If you have a built box I think the trend now is any top quality dextron 6 spec oil.

im dyslexic and cannot turn off simple functions in tapatalk

If the non-genuine is full synthetic you would expect long life.

Guys with genuine stuff are experiencing problems too so I suspect most of the complaints would have occurred regardless.

Thanks hypnodoc for the reply about hunting with Transmax. At least I know I'm not crazy, Simon has seen it in stock BFs since they were brand new, just that mine never did it before and I'm paranoid about milkshaking, hence got a new heat exchanger fitted. My shifts are still good so not as worried now but will look into genuine next flush.

No worries SteveR. Mine stopped the hunting as soon as the Life Guard was put back in. If you want to go to the real stuff Precise or Precision Automatics in Osborne Park are the best for price and service, no new sump included as it was already steel. $530 for full flush and filter usuing Life Guard and fit new heat exchanger (I supplied the heat exchanger) others wanted as much as $850 to just do a dump and half fill.

Can anyone tell me the difference in all these containers?

Red Lid bottle is ford spec =$55 in Australia

Black Lid bottle is bmw jag benz spec =$23.50 in USA

white lid bottle is range rover spec =$32 in UK

All prices are for 1L bottles off ebay I assume they are exactly the same stuff just marketed in different bottles in different countries???
