Yep still got it, I should be free then too - if I'm not helping my mate pave his backyard before his party haha.

Been doing it all week, got blisters all over the hands.

IT hands should stay in IT, we're not designed to deal with rocks and shiz. :P

ok, so I have an update on mine.

Today I jacked her up and had a look underneath.

The exhaust looked like it was hanging pretty close to chassy and diff and it moved a lot (up and down). The mechanic actually told me that the exhaust had been checked and there was no prob? In his defence, it did suddenly start knocking again after a trip to the coast. Anyway, I cable tied the rear muffler and the centre muffler tighter upwards for less movement.

Second thing I saw was the bottom of both shock absorbers had small damage where a protruding bolt was very close when jacked up must have been hitting constantly whilst driving. I taped some soft rubber foam between the gap.

Now when I drive her there is absolutely NO knocking at all. I will obviously look at more permanent solutions in the future, but in the interim they should hold up and continue to work,

The handbrake cable theory sounds plauisble too because when mine WAS kocking, I could feel the vibrations through the handbrake although I did not touch my handbrake and the knock is gone...

Hope this solves it for you.

The sway bar bolts could be loose mine need to be tightened at just about every service, and it is an obvious crack sound when turning onto my driveway or over bumps but only periodcally.

Love reviving a thread, has a good feel to it in the early hours of the morning.

Just thought I'd update my thoughts on this, as it's still happening...

I'm fairly positive it has nothing to do with my suspension now.

I get the sound when I open a drivers side door (front or back) and its a metal hitting metal sound, as if something is loose somewhere on the back right of the car (at least that's where it sounds like its coming from)

The same thing when I go over bumps, instead of calling it a knocking sound as people would be thinking "thud", it's a metal hitting metal sound as it were the exhaust, but that's been checked and it's not.

Still no idea and a few people have looked and cant seem to find what it is.

edit:

Just went out to the car then after it has been sitting all night. I always get the sound when the car has been left for a while (over an hour, hence why when people have a look at it they cant pick the sound)

Pretty much put very minimal down force on the roof just above the back drivers side door and heard a feint metal tick, then pushed down on the boot and heard a much louder tick that started on the drivers side from what sounded like behind the rear wheel and seemed to carry ever so slightly to the passengers side.

It's position is in line with the rear sway bar, but it all looks fine (plus had pedders look at it when they installed the adjustable coilovers and they coudlnt see anything)

Mine does it also,, only on the rhs though.. Sounds like my jack clinging in the boot but im to lazy to pull it out to check if it is
