Haven't done anything to fix it yet, will try get back to Lukes on Friday if I can but we're just going to have a look under and see where abouts it is that's causing the sound.

Pulling the handbrake up slightly stopped the noise, so that's a pretty fair assumption that it's the handbrake causing it.

Hahah nice one.

Cause (or what we believe it was as we changed 2 things) was a broken bracket behind the handbrake shoe, not sure what it's intensions are but from what Luke said, it was there to prevent the noise and was doing the exact opposite. (Luke can elaborate more on it as he knows brake stuff lol)

Other thing we did was tighten the handbrake cable, as it was finger loose.

Did a google search to find this thread, but I had an annoying sound coming from my bf xr6 and I figure I'd let people know what my 2 noises ended up being..

1) Spare tyre strap not tight and the tyre and wooden cover was knocking.

2) Factory boot jack was not opened up enough to be tightly in its place and was banging on inside of rear quarter.

Just a couple more things for yous to check if u have a frustrating noise!! It's sometimes easier to start with the the simple things

Good thread, good read, and good discovery made.. I wonder if this is my noise.. it's actually coming from under my left foot in the foot well.. appears to happen moreso when turning left.. at any speed.

Maybe swaybar, may one of these handbrake brackets.. had it on the hoist the other day at Jax, didn't appear to be exhaust or swaybar. Will see..
