When in neutral everything seems ok.I was told this could be engine mounts, around $1200 to replace through Ford or low idle. A mechanic that drove my car said my car is idling at around 500 where it should be at around 700rpm. Dont really want to spend $1200 if it isn't going to fix the issue.Has anyone had any experience with this, either resolving it by replacing mounts or adjusting the idle? At worse, all you've done is try the cheapest option first. Just use some carby cleaner and give it a good clean. Also put a bottle of fuel treatment through the car. I honestly don't know how good they are, but they are supposed to clean out the fuel system and make it more efficient. I did 3 or 4 things at once when my car had the rough idle, so I can't comment on how good an individual part was.Not saying that any of these are your problems, but I did the TB, cleaned out the air filters, spark plugs, fuel treatment and ignition coils. (Coils were more for the failing power under load)Mine was so bad that it would 'bottom' out at the lights when I pulled up. The revs would drop off and it would just turn off...How many KM's has your car got? Year? Mods?

Ended up being the drives side engine mount totally stuffed! $1200 seems a bit steep though.

Was yours consistent?

Especially at the bottom of first gear as it returned to 'idle' revs.Would just drop and the car would turn off... I also found as it got hot, like you say, it was worse... Dunno why though.Just to recap, I did;New NGK spark plugsCleaned Air filterCleaned Throttle body really wellFuel treatmentDisconnect/Reconnected battery (After a few hours)After that the idle stayed very consistent and didn't bottom out. Power was a lot more linear as well and along with the boost solenoid clean, it fixed all of my issues. Without the plugs, will set you back all of $20 and however long it takes to do! Chad, give these things a go mate and if they're no good then try the engine mounts. The TB causes all sorts of issues when it's gunked up...
