Hi Guys (and girls)

Anyone experiencing a clunking in their drivetrain when backing off from giving their G6E Turbo a bit of gas. my car is in for its 15000 klm service tomorrow and I thought I would get some feed back from someone else before Ford tells me "they have never heard of this problem before" and there is nothing wrong.

Also been having problems with my passenger door mirror freeze in the down position after reversing and not come up again, although as the car is in tomorrow it has been working like a charm!!

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

hey mate how u goin ?

I had a similar problem with mine when backing off the accelerator and even in just in reverse or low speed gear changes, but this was after I fitted the lsd diff and new bushes,

I thought it was the diff coz the noise was horridness, but it was just the wrong bushes fitted,

Maybe its something as little as your diff bushes wearing out, So ill get them to have that check first to save time,

cheers johnny

Same problem with my car, I have learnt to not just get off the gas, ease it off a little instead. Now that I am used to doing that, I dont have the problem.

Thanks Johnny

How is the car with a LSD, is there a noticeable difference in day to day driving or just when giving it a bit???

I looked into getting a LSD and was quoted app $1400 but the shop actually recommended not getting one??? strange, but they reckon it would make no difference.

What are your thoughts?

Cheers

Mick

Thanks all

The guys at Castle Hill Ford acknowledge the clunck and also a hum I get at 95klm or so and tell me its just the way the cars are and there is not much you can do but adjust my driving style.

Not sure what to do but start backing off slowly as well.

Cheers

Had it bad when I first got my car, scared the sh*t out of me, and yes pretty normal.

Had a true trac fitted and some superpro comfort bushes and most of the thumping is gone and what there is is much less savage.

withstupid.gif Pretty much do the same thing, I've got an LSD but it's still pretty savage. Would love to find out how to get rid of it.

Mick depending on what u wanna do with your car, you might need a LSD, 1400 bucks is pretty cheap, is it a truetrak?

For that price I'll be putting 1 in straight away, there more fun that's for sure :-)

And nah didnt think I had a problem with noises clunking etc after I fitted it, or b4 hand even, only when I fitted it first but sorted it straight away.
