Sounds like your not sure you were speeding but cant say ya werent. I got done last thursday morning at 440am riding a bicycle home pissed with no lights, was laughing when the cop fined me $55 for it.

I wrote a bullsh*t letter saying at the time of the speeding offence I thought I was going the speed limit but I had the speedo checked out after I got the ticket and it turned out it was out by about 5km/h. I sent in a dodgy receipt saying the speedo was replaced and I got off the fine.I also saw a few weeks ago on one of those current affairs programs where one of the producers got a ticket and she wrote a letter saying it was lapse in concentration and she actually got off the ticket. Its worth a try!! How long have you been driving for??

Just admit you were in the wrong, but you are really apologetic and you will en-devour to to prevent it from re-occurring. Explain that you are proud of having a clean slate, and would like to keep it that way.

Geez they not giving you a break over that.Good timing for the post.I just finished doing some reading on the www.fines.vic.gov.au site and it gives an opportunity to apply for an Official Warning as long as you fulfill one or more of their provisos such as having a good driving record and your detected speedwas less than 10 klm/h below the speed limit.I will write a letter however,I will not hold my breath. If Victorian members are interested to see what they can do about their fines the link below should be helpful. Official warnings and internal reviews(Vic.Police services)

timetaker Donating Members 217 Member For: 14y 2m 12d Gender: Male Posted 25/10/11 01:04 PM Author Share Posted 25/10/11 01:04 PM *UPDATE* *UPDATE*I received a letter today from The Victorian Police stating the fine has been withdrawn and that I have been issued an Official Warning from Vic.Police.Therefore I don't have to pay the penalty and I keep the point the were going to deduct! So guys, if you are unlucky to get snapped by a speed camera, and have a relatively good driving record and admit to speedingin your letter, you just may avoid the fine and receive an Official Warning instead,it's worth a try!
