Is this right? Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/7667-puzzled/#findComment-68090 Share on other sites
Guest Ricksan Guests Posted 26/11/03 12:05 AM Share Posted 26/11/03 12:05 AM By pure coincidence, I found the impellar in my Turbo was damaged. Couldn't understand why, as a new vehicle, it surged when you put the foot down. 3 of the impellar blades were damaged hence disrupted air flow through the Turbo.Having a brand new Turbo fitted tomorrow as Ford Aust want the complete unit back as it seems it was damaged prior to the motor etc being built.People, take the main air flow tube off and have a look at yours, you never know. Glenn, Check out www.howstuffworks.com for a really good explanation on all things mechanical, including turbos etc.In short, turbo means more air into motor, which enables more fuel to be added, which means bigger bang.
