I've had heaps of fun with this car. It's an awesome drive. But, unless I take it to the track you never really get to unleash it.

Queensland laws are ridiculously tough now also so many are just moving away from quick/modified street cars.

My Son is getting closer to driving age so I like the idea of actually building something cool again with him. That, or buy a cheapie track car together with a tow hack ute and actually have something that I can wring its neck and if it breaks it just get parked until I can fix it.

I'm going to rip up plenty given I bought it new. It would be sold as a package with the matching trailer so might come out of it ok. I would only part with them if the numbers stacked up to do something else of interest. It's coming on five years which is a fair run for me. I'll have a bit of a look around and see how I go.

I'd need to find something, or a combination of cars that really interests me before I'd seriously consider moving on. I did look at a very tidy low klm FG super pursuit yesterday, but that boat anchor engine just doesn't appeal and it was too expensive for a toy hauler. A friend has a mint AU XR8 ute and is buying a new XR8 sedan. If I could get that for around 10k that gives me some play money to have something else as well.

I'm just tossing a few things around guys. I still love the XR. It has everything on it pretty much I wanted and still has under 60k's on it. No anti Ford sentiment from me it's just more about am I getting the best out of the value I've invested and have tied up.

I still have thoughts of (returning mine to stock and) selling it and my GTX is still in the box Bomber. .. .. I thought you bought 1 Ralph ??

Same thing with the laws down here. It's fine around the town where I live as all the local 5-0 know the car but every time I go down to Adelaide lately, I get stopped and the car checked over. Haven't had a fine or defect or anything but came close the other day.

As you know Bomber, my car runs a bit rich and both the exhaust trumpets are black as crap most of the time. A couple weeks back, I gave the car a real good clean and got some Stainless cleaner in the trumpets and gave them a good polish up......well.....a bit of a polish up.

Went down to Adelaide Friday just gone and got pulled over..... again. The plod didn't like the sound of the exhaust at idle and told me to give it a cupla revs. He asked why one of the trumpets is cleaner than the other so I explained about the Nizpro valve.

"So you've got a bigger exhaust" he said and pulled out the 100mm wheelonapole to check the height under the car. He then measured HTG and had another look at the engine bay............bet ya'll are getting bored reading this by now so you can imagine how bored I was getting with 'one of SA's finest' starting to Attitude Up so he says to me " might send you over the pits for an emissions check".

Farrrrrrrrrrrrk me.

Just then, a couple of cars crashed up at the corner so he said "You're lucky this time" and left.

This sort of thing happens every time I go down to town lately so I'm starting to think that having a really nice car and doing a bit of work to it just isn't fun anymore.
