I know I've banged on a lot about the exhaust....alright everything really, but it actually puts out a good note. People comment about it all the time. Have heard so many 'hollow' mono toned cars with either 3.5" or 4" singles. They're nice and deep in mild steel but have little rasp to them which I personally like. Maybe it's just the stainless, but it has nice crackles and pops and sounds more like a boosted old school six. Some might say a bit ricer also but I'll wear that.

Was thinking about getting a turbo beanie but was told tonight no real benefit over the factory shield. The plan was to get a donor rear shield and trim it to a similar profile like the front one to mainly hide the manifold and direct heat away a bit, then run the beanie and maybe heat wrap the dump. Thoughts?

A lot of people poo poo the heat wrapping gig.

But I think any time you can remove heat from the engine bay it's gotta be a good thing, not only for performance but also all the hoses and electronics etc.

The other bonus you may or may not get is extra exhaust velocity.

Just one thing to be careful with is where you finish the heat wrap as it's going to get very hot at that point.

Can get factory ones pretty cheap actually - $80. There are some supposedly HD versions on ebay for similar coin but not sure of them. Checked everything else for leaks but pretty sure it's the mount. Luckily given the turbo has been replaced, the bottom heat shield is no longer there so from what I understand it should be straight forward to replace now.
