Basically, when coming on boost under light/moderate pedal all of a sudden it comes alive like it got a 50 shot or something. Given I've got a turbo side, you can actually hear the turbo change sound. It didn't get it to do it this afternoon. I've been told it could be the convertor locking. Was thinking also that the boost solenoid has never been serviced to my knowledge so might do that as well in case it's playing up a bit.

It's a very distinct change from open to closed on our cars

The billet wheel also runs more trim so again that will influence how it builds boost. As you say mate it could just simply be the waste gate. The boys said the back-to-backs were all consistent. Boost identical. That was my main concern.

Car has decided to fix itself Don't know whether it was a lazy boost solenoid, blow off valve, or the actuator needed a working over to get happy. Whatever it was, the funny sorta dead light/moderate pedal zone has gone. Dare I say it, it kinda felt like the turbo had a tight spot until it freed itself with more exhaust gas. Tonight, it just spooled progressively with no such quirky issues. It was cool tonight (13 degrees) and it really does hammer now. Low down, now that it's sorted itself, it really doesn't feel that much different in spool than the little turbo did. So yes, it ticked that box. Near the same low down but with the longer legs that only a 60+mm wheel can give you. That said, I'm a little disappointed it didn't go a bit more at 16psi. Whilst I'm confident it's spooling faster than a 3540, I've seen the standard cast wheel make that power, at that boost. I thought we'd be well into the 360's at that. Would I recommend it? Yes, but time over, I'd be supplying both the factory housing and cover as the ones MTA use are not great quality. Basically, a genuine 3540 with a rooted bearing for him to then install their CHRA is ideal. If he can't do it after you've supplied the donor for like $1200, then no, save some more coin and get an out of the box PT6235 for $1950.

A mates tuned GT335 went 375 then 349 on hi-torque's mainline the following day.Look, I'm happy with it boys and the car drives really nicely. I do admit that the MTA bad press, my actuator issue at the same time, throw into the mix the funky two stage boost issue all got me down a bit. Oh, and my donor garret housing that I was going to use had cracks also so couldn't be used, lol. So, it didn't go exactly to script but it's all done now and I can just enjoy the car and think of other improvements - doh!My honestly on here is also causing me some external grief at the moment but I was under the impression forums were about speaking the truth about your experiences that we all learn from together. Whilst I'm loyal to Hi-Torque Performance as they've looked after me and support a club I'm president of, I'm not aligned nor receive any financial backing or benefit from anyone.Yes I've been a bit negative about the situation with my turbo upgrade but I think for good reason. It's just a real shame that somebody I've helped significantly has decided to close the door on a friendship because I've told it like it is and a third party has been pissing in his pocket. Anyhoo, this is my thread and I'm not going to spin propaganda when either a business dealing or product gives me grief. That just creates a fake environment making the forum worthless.
