Ok Bomber, I think you have talked me into a GTX.

Mate did you purchase gasket nipple etc, at same time?

Have you got part numbers?

The boys didn't put the nipple in the comp cover actually. They put them on the hot side pipe which MTQ recommended also as as they reckon it gives a better boost input to the solenoid.

I remember someone else mentioning this Bomber .. can't remember who though.

Any idea why or even how the solenoid likes it better?

Because it's at the top/start of the snail in the narrow portion, it creates turbulence. Away from the cover that's not an issue.

It's actually easier to put in the hot side also. Just drill out, back nut with lock tight on and done. Or if really fussy, get someone to weld a nut on but that's probably going overboard. Don't know if the alloy piping would be thick enough to drill and tap on it's own though. Maybe. Either way, easily done. Depending on where you put it, you may need a longer hose back to the solenoid.

boost nipple

So basically, just above where the silicon finishes on the hot side pipe. In this case, on the tube end at the front of the car for easy access.
The good thing about this also is it removes any chance of getting alloy fillings in the comp cover or screwing up the thread taping etc. Much easier to get right in the tube or repair if any error is made. For those going full 'bling' it looks neater also.

^^^ correct. Worst case you may need a new rubber hose back to the solenoid if too short.
