Fkn fault is back. Boost related issue. Was fine yesterday. Hoping that it's something stupid like the boost control solenoid or blow off.

And, off she comes. At least the mani bolts won't be seized, lol. Not all bad news. Have managed to score an FG Garrett housing ported by someone that knows what they're doing for the right price. We suspect the flapper is catching or the shaft has a tight spot when hot in the current housing creating the fault. Nothing else was found. As MTA housings are low grade Chinese junk, I'll be happy to be rid of it. Sounds like it's going to crack in half when it's cooling off.

The Turbo itself feels excellent when the boost control plays nice. As I said earlier, I'd recommend the 750 but only if you use factory housings and only if you get somebody else to do the port and flapper mod.

In other words skip the MTA china spacial and go for PTA or GTX from the start.

Hope it gets sorted mate for you mate, but from reading your experience and others there is no way I'd be bolting on of these to my car.

The CHRA is fine guys. In the .50 cover, it spools not much differently to the little turbo. Plenty of happy MTA750 customers around.

I just got bloody unlucky with my timing and yes, I agree the housings are low grade. Plenty have and still screw up the port & flapper mod. That problem has nothing to do with the turbo. Wouldn't matter what was on it at the moment.

I rate the Turbo, just not the housings used. Two others I know running this turbo used garrett housings. Both have zero issues. One is pushing 450rwkw.

It is true that yes if I could rewind the clock by a month, I would now have the PT6235. Would have cost me nearly a grand more but I'll be at that now by the time I fit the replacement housing :(

It's got my down a bit but I just have to complete it now and get it right.

yes the flapper mod I got done was bodged up (could see day light true it ) that's maybe why I got so much lag down low . running a 6plus 6 wheel on a standard ba turbo ,but its not going as good as I thought .if I could turn back time I would have just bought a new car .and next time it will not be another ford ever again .
