Been a while so little update.

Came to a crossroad with where I wanted to go. I really only set out to make 300 and achieved that. Wanted to make the car a better package overall with other mods and I think I've achieved that also. But...I want a bit more, lol.

I was going to do an E85 tune with the little turbo but frankly, the cost to upgrade injectors + fuel system and the problems people are having with E85, has made me reconsider that. The United on the goldie also has supply issues which is frustrating people.

Given I have the PWR cooler (rated to 400rwkw) venom bolt up and SS growler, it's a matter of coming up with a combo that will take the car to the next level without replacing these parts. I'm only chasing 350rwkw and don't want to run more than 15psi. That should save the valve springs, I won't need a turbo mod (given the venom bolt up) and preserve the ZF.

After speaking with my tuner, we've decided to go bigger turbo, intank, injectors and stick with 98. Given the power level, I don't really need a GTX. Plus, the 3" cat pipe would limit its potential and plumbing up to the crossover even with my 90mm muffler delete, may be tight for room (not sure on that one).

So, given everybody is going GTX there must be some very good low k FG F6 Turbos around. I you have one, shoot me a PM.

As far as the fuel system goes, I'll probably go the Walbro 400lph intank and xspurt 1000cc or similar.

In terms of street performance is there much difference between 300 out of the little turbo and 350 out of the F6 turbo. Because of the quicker spool would they be very similar in their 'speed' on the street?

Could you possibly do turbo mods on the little huffer, add a dump and in tank pump and hit 320?

Yes it is possible to do that with little turbo, but unless your sucker for the spool (like me) there isnt much point. I have seen a little turbo do 340 but it was really being leaned on

Street performance not much difference, little turbo probably always faster to about 80 but then big brother breathes and its all over

Mr Turbo is local and we did discuss an option of billet wheel etc. Would've been interesting to see how it went but it was getting up near GTX money. Would've maybe squeezed 350 out of that with minimal loss of bottom end, but you're pushing hard again. Have heard of a few small turbo's FG being killed once maxed hence would rather go up one and not work it as hard.

320 out of the little turbo was neck and neck with my 330 out of my ba from take off but on roll on the fg nailed me by car lengths everytime

Power figures aside afaik small turbo has gone 127mph on e85

^^^ I'd never say the little turbo is a chit thing either Jet. My car scares plenty. To be honest, if it wasn't for the current run of problems with E85 I'd probably still look at it. I'm just not convinced of the longevity of the factory plumbing to cope. So for me, I'd want to basically rip out every factory hose and replace it with braided teflon etc to be sure. I think that's pretty much what veva had to do to get it finally sorted. That's why I'm looking at the bigger huffer with a moderate 98 tune. Proven combo with few gremlins.

See where this is going?

Just get the GTX35 Bomber otherwise you'll regret it in 6 months.
